In my "Image Making for Graphic Design" class, I worked on two projects photographing, editing, and designing images to turn mundane materials into something beautiful.
I photographed erasers, edited the images in Photoshop, then made iterations of grid layouts. Then I created posters inspired by the material, using a mix of found imagery and my photos. I found that the history of rubber was surprisingly extensive and horrible, but I narrowed the focus down to its use in World War II.

Throughout the semester, I did photoshoots of Extra bubble gum with various themes involving outdoor lighting, transparency, digital editing, glitches, scanning, and projection. Using the images, I created a book documenting the process.
